Tasty pancake in a skillet . . . From the oven!!

I read many amazing food blogs.

I have thought about blogging about my own food creations and failures but I really can't compete.

I would like to share this one FABULOUS breakfast creation for you mothers out there.

Dads too.

It is super easy and really tasty!

REALLY, WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO EAT THIS FOR BREAKFAST?!?!?

Add some bananas and home made peach butter . . . . . YUM.

Dutch Baby

Yield: 4

Ingredients:

1 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup 2% milk
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 large egg

Directions:

Heat your oven to 425 degrees.
Melt butter in a 10 inch cast iron skillet over medium heat.
In a a medium bowl combine flour, milk, sugar, salt and egg. Stir until moist. Pour batter into skillet and cook over medium heat for one minute. Bake in oven for 18 minute or until golden brown.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired. Cut into quarters serve immediately.

I tripled the batch because I used my JUMBO skillet thinking it would never be enough for my hungry crew.  It was too much for my pan.  So the next time I made it I only doubled it.

I promise you will love it!

  2. I should have said that I put a little extra butter in that skillet and it made it even tastier. Butter makes everything taste good!
