Adventures continue part trois - Mesa Verde - Day 4

Very close to Durango (a short drive thankfully), we traveled to Mesa Verde.  This is where the cliff dweller indians built their homes.  It is amazing that anyone could climb up to where most of them are and to live there is even more impressive.  I would have liked to have had a bit more time to spend there but was glad that we had the time we did.

 These house communities are scattered all over in the high cliffs.  The following pictures can't really express how unbelievably high and dangerous they are to access.

Several places we visited have had serious problems with forest fires as you can see in this picture.  There is also a home at the top of this cliff.

 These buzzards should have been a warning for the impending drive over to Page, Arizona.  If you don't know what I am talking about than visit "Please stand by while we are experiencing technical difficulties" post.  They could sense the impending death that would follow us later.
