Oh Toto, thank goodness we're not in Kansas anymore! It's all downhill from here!

This is definitely NOT Kansas!

We made it to Colorado!  Amazing!

High altar

Our day began this morning in Denver where we attended mass at Our Lady of  Mount Carmel.  Very nice.  The children's choir sang.  The sermon was quite similar to the one at SFdS today.  I must say I am still partial to the black/blue berettas verses the white berettas seen today.

We said a prayer for you Mr. R.
While I was at mass, I saw that it was the feast of St. Joseph Cupertino.  For those who have The Liturgical Year  by Dom Gueranger, please take a moment to read the pages.  It was a perfect meditation, reading and saint to keep in mind today especially in the location we find ourselves in today.  I share with you the final passage of it:
O worthy son of the seraph of Assisi, may we, after thy example, be raised up, not into the air, but into those regions of true light, where far above the earth and its passions, our life, like thine, may be hidden with Christ in God!
The mountains all seem to point toward Almight God.

I hate to move on so abruptly and in a completely opposite direction.

Alpine sledding is a blast!

John was a bit unsure about the ride up.

Next stop in our travels:  Garden of the Gods

It is nestled in the valley below Pike's Peak.  It is spectacular.  We spent the day hiking and having fun.

So pretty!

Don't worry about me, that rock didn't hurt too bad!

Little rock gnomes
Okay Luke, when I told you I thought you could move mountains, well, that didn't mean literally.
We better get out of here before we get into trouble.

Okay everybody, see you tomorrow.   Any more guess about Kansas?

  1. I almost missed the littlest gnome in the picture! He blends in with the rocks quite well... ;)

  2. Hi Everyone!!

Ok, so I am jealous that Ben got the prize for first comment. But besides that, it looks like you are all having a marvelous time. The photos are awesome.

As far as the mattress and boxspring, well, you will see all kinds of interesting things on this adventure--things the kids end up remembering longer than some of the planned venues.

Alpine slides look like so much fun! Can't wait to see you all here.

    Love,

    Robyn

  3. Was it the largest ball of twine? Largest living ghost town? Truckhenge? Replica of Little House on the Prairie?
