El Senor De Los Milagros Shrine

Tucked away in a little neighborhood on a very humble part of town is an amazing little oasis.

Every year on September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, mass is celebrated here.

When we pulled up it looked like any house in Tucson, but it clearly is not.  It is a spot where anyone can come and pray night or day.  The gate is never locked.  The shrine is in a carport of the home of Pauline Romo.  The crucifix has been in her family for generations.

In the early 70's, Mrs. Romo was eating pie had glass that accidentally had glass in it.  Several doctors told her she would not survive due to the severity of the injuries.  She prayed with the crucifix and promised that if she survived she would build a shrine and share the family treasure with everyone.  She survived and built the shrine.

It is a place where old and young alike come at all hours of the day and night to implore our dear Lord's help for whatever their particular needs are.  It is a quiet sanctuary in an big world.  Many people attribute their own miracles to prayers answered from their time spent in prayer at the shrine.

In Tucson, many homes around the town have their own little shrine to St. Jude and Our Lady.  I am only sorry I did not have time to visit them all and learn the stories behind them all.  I am glad I was able to visit this one and share it now with you.

El Senor De Los Milagros, pray for us.
St. Jude, pray for us
